Meet Pete

Pete Meitzner is a lifelong Sedgwick County resident, graduate of Kapaun High and Wichita State, successful small business owner, and husband and father.

Since 2019, Pete has served as your Sedgwick County Commissioner, working to lower property taxes, strengthen public safety and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely. Pete is running for one more term to finish what he started.

WHY PETE?

Pete’s experience with budgeting and his knowledge of the community is necessary for keeping our region moving in a positive and responsible direction. His previous business experience allows him to work closely with numerous State, County and City governments all over the United States.

Mr. Meitzner is committed to helping the Sedgwick County region become an even greater area to live and work. Pete has served a combined total of 15 years in local government elected office, including 7 years on the Wichita City Council and he is in his 8th year serving as a Sedgwick County Commissioner. Pete has proven to be a large part of the positive momentum we continue to experience throughout our community.

Pete is married to his wife of 43 years, Suzi Meitzner, and they have two children, a son and a daughter.
